2012 Fashion Tips for Big Men
Height is an advantage, both for men and women, but heftiness and bulk can be a big disadvantage. The combination could pose a challenge to dressing and finding the perfect clothes. If you are a big man you should know what works and what don’t work for you, to make your full-size stature an advantage rather than a disadvantage. Once you know the basics, it will be easy to build a wardrobe around them. Here are some fashion tips for big men:
• A perfect fit
For big men, fit is very fundamental and vital. Unfortunately, finding what fits perfect is not only a problem of big men, but by most men. Either men wear too tight clothes or too loose. For a big man like you, tight clothes will draw attention to those areas that you want to hide and in addition, make you feel uncomfortable.
Most big men think that loose and baggy clothes will hide their big bulk. That is an erroneous belief and you know that. Your loose and baggy clothes do not make you less bulky, all it does is make you look like a balloon.
The perfect fit for you are clothes that skim over your frame to create that illusion of a leaner and trimmer stature.
• Open your neckline
The shirts or sweaters that you should look for are those with a v-neck or open neckline. Clothes that are too tight around the neck or with a round or close neckline will make you look like you’re choking and emphasize your big neck. V- neck or an open neckline will make your neck look longer and leaner and will call attention to your face rather than your hefty built.
• Right colors and patterns
Big boys should stay away from bright and bold colors; it has a tendency to make you look bigger. You should choose clothes in dark and muted colors. Black has a very slimming effect and very elegant as well.
If you have to wear patterns, avoid loud and busy patterns. Stick to simple and subtle patterns such as thin stripes.
