There are so many different styles that are in style today. These fashion trends are not all the same. Just look at the fall fashion houses runway pictures and most fashion houses have a different style that then becomes a fashion trend for males. With so many different designers with so many different styles you certainly can’t wear them all. Even if you did you probably would not feel comfortable in some of them. So every male really has to decide what style he is comfortable with. Now some styles can cross lines like a khaki look can go safari or preppy fairly easily. Whereas black grunge may not cross to another style very easily.
So what style are you? You have loads of choices and some men will say they don’t have any particular style at all. Some of the current style types are traditional, cool, prep, rocker, urban, or conservative. There are many others too. You decide you want to go rocker then you can look at the different rock stars and see what they are wearing. This can also be called punk or heavy metal. So there is no real firm definition of different styles but many can be lumped together like prep and urban are close.
But let’s face it many men are not fashion conscious. They might see something while browsing on the net and think oh I’d like that and they purchase one. For the most part it will conform to what they already have in their closet.

First of all, you need to remember that wearing clothes that don’t go together has many connotations. This includes styles of clothing. For example, if you want to wear a watchmen coat or greatcoat, which is now in style, you shouldn’t be pairing it with a pair of shoes and long socks and a pair of shorts. This not only looks ridiculous with a long coat, but it also looks ridiculous in any other outfit! Now, if you got rid of the coat and wore a tee-shirt instead, then you could easily get away with this!
Next, make sure your clothes are clean. The sniff test definitely doesn’t count—especially if you have any visible stains. Make sure that you have clean, fresh clothes on a daily basis and that they are completely and utterly stainless. If they aren’t, make sure to treat your clothing so that it does not have those stains any longer. Also, make sure that your clothes are aproned and neat without any wrinkles at all.
Last, make sure that your clothes match color-wise. If not, use a color wheel in order to make it easier to match things together.

Men’s fashion is a lot different compared to what it used to be. However, this is leaving a lot of men clueless as to what they should do when it comes to mixing and matching their clothing.
First of all, military style clothing is in, so that is definitely a starting point. However, military clothing doesn’t mean that you just wear anything—usually it requires that you plan ahead at least a little.
Say that you were wearing a watchmen coat. Now, you can dress it three different ways.
First, you can pair it with a nice shirt and a pair of jeans. Make sure that the jeans that you are wearing are clean and also are made of darker denim and softer denim. Make sure that your shirt is pressed. You can wear a pair of tennis shoes with these. Make sure that they are dark, or if you really wanted to, you could wear a pair of shoes that are lighter. A tie isn’t always a must.
Then again, you could also wear a tee-shirt and pair of regular jeans with a watchmen coat. Make sure that when you wear said watchmen coat that you make sure to wear a clean, neat tee-shirt. For example, make sure that you made sure your clothes are clean. The sniff test just doesn’t work or count, unless you’re at an all-guys school and even then it isn’t really acceptable. Shoes should be tennis shoes.
The last is all dressed up. Make sure that you are wearing dark slacks, a shirt of your choice, and shoes to match.

Sweat bands from the 80s are not widely acceptable. Neither are poker-style visors with green, see-through plastic. Hats among the acceptable varieties include modern style cowboy hats, regular baseball caps or visors, or even just sunglasses and a smile.
Another fashion faux pas, even if it doesn’t apply directly to clothing, is to be lobster-red while jogging down the beach in a speedo. This is important because if you’re red, none of your beach wear is going to match! No really, not only is it painful, but it can be extremely unfashionable and unattractive.
